F6 is a lateral split, triaxially braided sleeve made from 10 mil polyethylene terepthalate (PET) monofilament yarn that has been compounded with an organic flame spread inhibitor.
F6 sleeving easily wraps around cable or wire bundles of any length, and the lateral split allows easy access for wire break-outs, as well as adding, removing, or reconfiguring any wire along the full length of the application. It remains flexible over a wide temperature range and is resistant to chemical degradation, cuts and abrasions.
Self-extinguishing F6 is tested and approved for use under UL VW-1 andCSA material standards. Additionally, it is in compliance with RoHS, the European directive on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances.
The 25% edge overlap insures full coverage of your wire or cable bundles. It will not pucker or split open, even around tight turns or inline plugs and connectors. The semi-rigid wrappable braided tube simply closes around the installation without the need for any additional sealing fasteners such as tape or velcro. F6 is a flexible alternative to tubing or conduit, and the smooth surface minimizes snagging along the length of the installation.
F6 may be cut with scissors, but to insure professional, long lasting installations, a hot knife or similar tool should be used to cut and seal the ends of the sleeving.
